Therapeutic loving touch came to me in my life when I was exhausted and in desperate need of a new kind of self-understanding and care. I had pushed my way through years of ignored relational dysfunctions and heart-numbing academia, had a meaningless degree in hand, and was waiting tables. Needing to try my hand at something new, I took a surprise left turn and went to massage school having never had a massage.
This forced me to begin to work with the continuum of spirit and body. In myself and with my clients. Body within spirit. Spirit within body. Exploring and honoring the mystery. And I began to heal. Most notably from an eating disorder. But also on many levels. I discovered yoga. And returned to practicing music. And at the core was and is this growing fascination with the underlying divinity that is present in all life.
Yet we live in a culture and time where we mostly forget and disregard this. So my work, in massage and in yoga and in all the offerings I create to share, is to help myself and whoever I am working with, to remember and experience this inner energy of grace and vitality and beauty and love. It’s pretty fun:-)
I offer exceptional massage therapy and therapeutic yoga, as sacred exploratory spaces in which you can relax, remember, and draw healing from your innate connection to that which is always healed and whole within you. I work as a healing channel, sometimes silently, sometimes in shared conversation. I am highly skilled in both deep tissue release and subtle-level energy re-balancing. My hands and heart listen. And you will almost never get an assembly-line massage from me.
I have been a licensed massage therapist since 1994, am a graduate of the Body Therapy Institute, and have thousands of hours of further study in Thai Massage and Therapeutic Yoga, both of which I have taught extensively. When I’m not practicing massage, yoga, or being my family chauffeur and cook, I might be found playing my piano, cello, or harmonium, doing art with my daughter, communing with a tree, or penning creative ideas.
I am honored to serve you as a creative healing ally on your wellness journey, and I hope to be working with you very soon. Let’s do this!
